City of Albuquerque Chooses CoTweet to Power Twitter-based 311 Service

The City of Albuquerque is now using CoTweet to manage two–way dialogue with its constituents around critical community services on Twitter.

@CABq encourages users to ask questions about City facilities like the Zoo, and to report problems around town such as damaged street signs, potholes, or graffiti. You can even snap a photo of the problem, and send that along with your tweet to assist us in resolving the issue.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom Announces Twitter-based 311 service powered by CoTweet

Who’s the most wired city now? While Seattle clinched the top spot in this year’s annual poll by Forbes, we’re putting our money on San Francisco to take top honors next year.

    picture-8

Today the City of San Francisco announced a first of its kind application that allows citizens to access the City’s 311 Call Center without actually making a call.

Need to request street cleaning, report a traffic light outage or graffiti? No problem. The City now plans to take service requests and provide information to the public using Twitter – and to manage and track these conversations using CoTweet.

Following the example of leading corporations, non-profits and community and service organizations, San Francisco is the first major city to use Twitter to host two–way dialogue with its constituents around critical community services. This is a huge step for local government — and an example other cities are sure to follow.

For more information, see what Mayor Gavin Newsom has to say about how San Francisco is “changing the way cities connect with their government.” Read the full release

    CoTweet gets Kawasakied

Today we’ve released a new optional theme for CoTweet based off of feedback we’ve gotten from Guy Kawasaki, who joined our advisory team in April.

    picture-2

Guy’s usage of Twitter depends on being able to very quickly navigate a lot of information. In response to his feedback, we created a custom theme for him two months ago, and we’re releasing it to the public today. It provides much higher information density and takes advantage of keyboard navigation while retaining the rich look and feel of the CoTweet user experience.

To enable the theme, go to Settings -> General Settings and select “Guy Kawasaki Edition” from the Theme selector.
